Colin Fisher / I Huvudet på Colin Fisher REVIEW (English & Swedish)

I huvudet på Colin FischerAv Ashley Edward Miller och Zack Stentz
Sidor: 223

Han är en dröm "with a cherry on top".

SOLVING CRIME, ONE FACIAL EXPRESSION AT A TIME

Colin Fischer cannot stand to be touched. He does not like the color blue. He needs index cards to recognize facial expressions.

But when a gun is found in the school cafeteria, interrupting a female classmate's birthday celebration, Colin is the only for the investigation. It's up to him to prove that Wayne Connelly, the school bully and Colin's frequent tormenter, didn't bring the gun to school. After all, Wayne didn't have frosting on his hands, and there was white chocolate frosting found on the grip of the smoking gun...

YES, YES YES, WHAT A DELIGHTFUL BOOK!
What more can you expect from the makers of the film X men: First Class and Thor?

Oh, now I know why I read books. Just for the Salic feeling I once again had the good fortune to feel, I thought I'd lost hope of good books forever but then  popped this magnificent story up!
Where do we start ..

Let me say one thing about Colin Fisher. He's a Dream "with a cherry on top". Asperger's or not, his honesty, his way of conveying his thoughts, that is, bluntly, makes the whole story damn magnificent!

Colin's character is very lovely. He really grows as a person through the book, and when the shooting takes place, you get to take part out of his full capacity as an individual.

The only thing that really disturbed me was their age. in the book did not seem to be 14, at least 17 years I would say. I could never really see them before me like little kids.

Elanor & Park REVIEW (Swedish and English)

Av Rainbow Rowell
Sidor: 330

Eleanor & ParkBy Rainbow Rowell
Pages: 328
Publisher: St. Martins Press

Set over the course of one school year in 1986, ELEANOR AND PARK is the story of two star-crossed misfits – smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you’ll remember your own first love – and just how hard it pulled you under.

What a different story.
What a daring move.
What a love.
Rowell does not follow the template for how a Young Adult love story "should" be - at all.
Eleanor & Park is about the first, incomplete love, but forever present.
It's a vivid and quite beautiful story.
You become all warm inside when reading Elanor & Park. It's a bit like being in love with their love.

I highly recommend this book to all love fanatics out there, and old and young, for our first love is not something we will forget.

Rubinröd / Ruby Red & Safirblå / Sapphire Blue REVIEW

RubinrödAv Kerstin Gier
Sidor: 365

Wow vilken grym bok!!!

Ruby Red (Precious Stone Trilogy, #1)By Kerstin Gier
Pages: 322
Publisher: Henry Holt

Gwyneth Shepherd's sophisticated, beautiful cousin Charlotte has been prepared her entire life for traveling through time. But unexpectedly, it is Gwyneth, who in the middle of class takes a sudden spin to a different era!
Gwyneth must now unearth the mystery of why her mother would lie about her birth date to ward off suspicion about her ability, brush up on her history, and work with Gideon--the time traveler from a similarly gifted family that passes the gene through its male line, and whose presence becomes, in time, less insufferable and more essential. Together, Gwyneth and Gideon journey through time to discover who, in the 18th century and in contemporary London, they can trust.
Wow what a awesome book!
I really did not expect that.  I thought it would be tough and heavy  the way fantasy book usually are, it's always between life and death. Here is more from school or time travel.

This book will blow your mind, I LOVED Gwendolyn and her friend Leslie, some think that they behave like 12 instead of 16, but according to me it's all the other 16 year olds in fantasy books that behave like 22.

This book will make you laugh your butt of, it's truly hilarious!

With that said, Borrow it, buy it, steal it, I do not care; just reading it!

Safirblå / Sapphire Blue (Ruby Red Trilogy #2)

Safirblå (inbunden)Av Kerstin Gier
Sidor: 392

Sapphire Blue (Precious Stone Trilogy, #2)
By Kerstin Gier
Pages: 362
Publisher: Henry Holt

Gwen’s life has been a roller-coaster since she discovered she was the Ruby, the final member of the secret time-traveling Circle of Twelve. In between searching through history for the other time-travelers and asking for a bit of their blood (gross!), she’s been trying to figure out what all the mysteries and prophecies surrounding the Circle really mean.

At least Gwen has plenty of help. Her best friend Lesley follows every lead diligently on the Internet. James the ghost teaches Gwen how to fit in at an eighteenth century party. And Xemerius, the gargoyle demon who has been following Gwen since he caught her kissing Gideon in a church, offers advice on everything. Oh, yes. And of course there is Gideon, the Diamond. One minute he’s very warm indeed; the next he’s freezing cold. Gwen’s not sure what’s going on there, but she’s pretty much destined to find out.

Did I just finish this book without pauses? I think I did.

We'll see London through the ages, we included at balls and other festivities that took place in history, and Wow if I enjoyed every second!

Gwendolyn is a real drama queen, so she does everything much more fun! One can not but marvel o her as a person, and jealousy that bubbles up when she gets to dress in all these new-old cattle engines!

The minor characters in the book are just as fun to read about, especially Leslie and Xemerius.

What I'm not so clear with yet is what I feel towards Gideon. He confuses me and Gwendolyn to put it mildly.

I can not wait until I get my hands on the third and last book in this trilogy!

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter #1) REVIEW

The day you have all been waiting for is finally here. I've been bullied to no ends by my friends because of this. I've been laughed at and people have said " and you call yourself a book-blogger? HAHAHAHA"

All because I hadn't read Harry Potter.
All because of THAT Potter.
Well cry no more readers because I finished HP yesterday and here is my review.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1)By J.K. Rowling
Pages: 310
Publisher: Scholastic Press

Harry Potter has never played a sport while flying on a broomstick. He's never worn a Cloak of Invisibility, befriended a giant, or helped hatch a dragon. All Harry knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley. Harry's room is a tiny cupboard under the stairs, and he hasn't had a birthday party in ten years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to a wonderful place he never dreamed existed. There he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic around every corner, but a great destiny that's been waiting for him... if Harry can survive the encounter.

3/5

I don't really know what to say about this book, what is there left to say really?
I knew reading this book would be much like Percy Jackson but in it's own way, I knew I wouldn't hate the book and I did not, I enjoyed it quite a lot actually. There was so much adventure, and I was amazed by the friendship the kids at Hogwarts had, and how loyal they were to their friends.
My favorite character's much be Hermione and Neville. They were both loyal to their friends and they were both very brave characters in their own way.
I am truly sad over the fact that I didn't read this book sooner, and by sooner I mean around the age of 13 because the book was more or less EXACTLY like the movie, and I think I would have liked it in a different way If I read it at a younger age.

I will definitely be reading the other books in the series, because I've that they are supposed to be better.

The Transfer: A Divergent Story (Divergent 0.1) REVIEW

description

The Transfer by Veronica Roth
By Veronica Roth
Pages: 50
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books

"The Transfer," the first of four new short stories told from Four’s perspective. Each brief story explores the world of the Divergent series through the eyes of the mysterious but charismatic Tobias Eaton, revealing previously unknown facets of his personality, backstory, and relationships.

TOO SHORT!

GIVE ME MORE

WHY ON EARTH DID WE ONLY GET FIFTY PAGES?!

I loved it, I really can't picture Tobias being "weak" or even with real emotions like that haha, but I do feel like we got a better glimpse of him, because the past is what sets out future. No future can be made without a past.

This short story makes me long even more for Allegiant, but at the same time I never wan't that day to come, because that means that It's over. The divergent series is over.

Cursed REVIEW

Ember
description
Hayden

Cursed
By Jennifer l. Armentrout
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Pages: 304

Dying sucks
...and high school senior Ember McWilliams knows firsthand.

After a fatal car accident, her gifted little sister brought her back. Now anything Ember touches dies. And that, well, really blows.

Ember operates on a no-touch policy with all living things--including boys. When Hayden Cromwell shows up, quoting Oscar Wilde and claiming her curse is a gift, she thinks he's a crazed cutie. But when he tells her he can help control it, she's more than interested. There's just one catch: Ember has to trust Hayden's adopted father, a man she's sure has sinister reasons for collecting children whose abilities even weird her out. However, she's willing to do anything to hold her sister's hand again. And hell, she'd also like to be able to kiss Hayden. Who wouldn't?

But when Ember learns the accident that turned her into a freak may not've been an accident at all, she's not sure who to trust. Someone wanted her dead, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she is to losing not only her heart, but her life.

For real this time

“Hunger gnawed at my stomach, but I was afraid someone would be in the kitchen again. So I found myself staring at the front door. Freedom seemed just a doorknob-turn away.

When I did open the door, freedom didn't wait — a half-naked Hayden did.”

I WILL finish this book today!

UPDATE
I did!

Great read by one of my favorite authors, Very sad that it's a stand alone book but what the heck, you take what is given.

I think this is her FIRST BOOK ever where the male character is not a total badass and I loved it! Don't get me wrong, I love badasses, but this just proves that she isn't one to follow a pattern. It makes her books interesting. Make them different.

I think Laurmentrout's signature thing when it comes to her books is that there is always passionate love in them. Weather it's teen, ya, NA or adult she always makes my heart melt with the love and adoration.

Kretsen / The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle #1) REVIEW

My Gansey

My vision Adam
My Blue!

Kretsen
Av Maggie Stiefvater
Förlag: B| Wahlströms (tack)
Sidor: 318

8/10

The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1)
By Maggie Stiefvater
Publisher:  Scholastic Press
Pages: 409

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.

His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.

Addicting. after the first page you are hooked. And I'm not even kidding. I had to put the book down after two pages and I thought I was going to break.

Maggie have written the famous Shiver book that's in a series, you know the one with werewolves.
The thing with that book-series is that nothing really happened until the last ten pages. I almost lost hope in her because of that.

I loved the whole witchworld with medium's, because it's so much like our reality but at the same time it's not.

You get to take part in Blue's life among the medium's and also the Aglionby boys life. Also known as Gansey, Noah, Adam and Ronan.

The thing that set the boys more apart was that they were all rich except for Adam. And they ALWAYS had to mention that, which made me crazy.

This Is What Happy Looks Like REVIEW +

This Is What Happy Looks Like
By Jennifer E. Smith

Hardcover416 pages
Published April 2nd 2013 by Poppy

If fate sent you an email, would you answer?

When teenage movie star Graham Larkin accidentally sends small town girl Ellie O'Neill an email about his pet pig, the two seventeen-year-olds strike up a witty and unforgettable correspondence, discussing everything under the sun, except for their names or backgrounds.

Then Graham finds out that Ellie's Maine hometown is the perfect location for his latest film, and he decides to take their relationship from online to in-person. But can a star as famous as Graham really start a relationship with an ordinary girl like Ellie? And why does Ellie want to avoid the media's spotlight at all costs?
What a fun story!
I have made up this rule to never judge an author before reading at least 2 of her/his books. This Is my second E Smith book and I liked this one a lot more that the probability of love at first sight. why? This one was just so much more... realistic. even though this book is NOT realistic at all, it felt like it was. They got to know each other by email which I thought was a fun modern twist.
While reading this book I found myself thinking "wow this book reminds me of a Justin Bieber fanfic" (read a lot of those back in the ol' days) this book could as well have been a fanfic, but most fanfic authors are not that good, like Jennifer. I mean she is not a fanfic author, she is an author and she is a good- you know what I mean...

Hardcover394 pages

Rating 2,5/5
I have no idea what to say about this book. It wasn’t great nor was it bad. It was OK.
There wasn’t anything in particular that I loved, but I did have a few things that I didn’t like. You see the Garrets had a big family, and every single family member played a part in the book, but the author described them very very bad. She made them all look like identical twins in my head, she would say things like “George looked like Jase except that George’s hair was a bit darker.” Etc. I just think that is a very amateur way to describe a character, authors should know how to describe a character properly, If you don’t know how to manage making every character stand out then don’t bother, make few characters.

I liked the story overall, it was a sweet story, the book was light until the last fifty pages, the plot twist was unexpected, and made the story a lot more enjoyable.

Goddess (starcrossed #3) REVIEW +

Goddess (Starcrossed, #3)
SUCH A PERFECT COVER!
After accidentally unleashing the gods from their captivity on Olympus, Helen must find a way to re-imprison them without starting a devastating war. But the gods are angry, and their thirst for blood already has a body count.
To make matters worse, the Oracle reveals that a diabolical Tyrant is lurking among them, which drives a wedge between the once-solid group of friends. As the gods use the Scions against one another, Lucas’s life hangs in the balance. Still unsure whether she loves him or Orion, Helen is forced to make a terrifying decision, for war is coming to her shores.

It’s really over. I can’t believe it. Two years journey have finally come to Its end.
Im going to miss Hector, Helen, Ariadne, Jason and Lucas a lot. But I will be missing Orion and Cassandra the most.
This Twilight inspired trilogy had it’s ups and downs, the downs was that the book didn’t make sense half of the time, the Gods seemed to be more stupid than an average human which I found strange and what was up with the love triangle between Helen, Lucas and Orion? Why even bother putting in a love triangle when Lucas and Helen are MEANT TO BE? Ugh.. and it seemed to me that everyone in the Delos family got together with everyone. It got quite disturbing the more you thought about it.
But I still LOOVED IT!!!! omg Hades, such a sweet man (never thought I would say that) and Cassandra why are you so cute, and why does it have to be over, and why why!!!!
I got annoyed at something new in every chapter, but I just couldnt put the book down, I finished it in one sitting!

In the end I didn’t want the book to be over. I dreaded the last few pages and I even started to like that last mentioned couple a bit too much… I don’t know what I liked so much, maybe the whole mythological idea. The book just captured me, weather I wanted it or not, I had no other choice but loving it.

SPOILER DO NOT CONTINUE READING IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK.

As I said before I got a bit annoyed that everyone got together with everyone, but can I just say...
Orion and Cassandra!!?!?!?!?
SHE IS A FREAKING CHILD.
I liked Cassandras role so freaking much, I liked the whole idea of her being the fates child, that she was alone, but she still managed to do it. She was in my opinion the strongest character, But then Angelini had to go and make them two fall in love like really? the first second he saw nothing but sisterly adoration in her and then he kissed her and was all like "I can't stay away from her" what the f was that all about?

And I don't know if you guys noticed but the whole point of this was to find the tyrant and stop hin/her from destroying earth... and they never revealed who the tyrant was...

Im going to miss Starcrossed a lot, you will always be in my heart. *crosses my arms and put them over my chest and bends* until we meet again. Good bye.

The Selection (The Selection #1)

By Kiera Cass

Hardcover327 pages
Published April 24th 2012 by HarperTeen

The Selection (The Selection, #1)For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself--and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

I never thought I would finish a book about a prince searching for his princess at the age 17. but I did. and It was goooood.

America Singer. What an amazing name. America didn’t even want to compete, but she did because the love of her life told her to.

America isn’t competing for Maxom’s love; she is not even competing for the crown. All she wants’ to do is stay in the competition long enough so that her family can get some money. She doesn’t like Maxom that way, she doesn’t like him at all, but when she gets to meet him she wonders, what if she’s been getting a twisted look at the prince?

What I liked with this book was that America was in love with a boy names Aspen. Really deeply in love. Every book I read has this instalove, which can be frustrated, because IRL it doesn’t always work like that. Just because she meet’s another friendly guy she does not loose feelings for Aspen like BAM, she is a very realistic character, a very smart one too.

At first Aspen seemed like a great guy, but I hated the fact that he was such a man man, he wanted to be the one providing for HER, even thou she was the one with the money at that point, and that he was willing to take such a irrational decision because of that.

Maxom is a character I can’t quite put a word on. He got this mystic around him, his actions can be quite unpredictable at times, but he is at the same time a sweet guy. In the next book I would like to see some more of his relaxed side, he can be quite stiff.

This book wasn’t so dark for being a dystopia; this is a great dystopia book to start off with!
