Guestblogger William!

Hello internet people that like to read blogs! To start of, I am not one of you, but I like to help out my friends and since Lihini isn’t currently able to do her blogging I’ll try to help put. My name is William, I starred in a teatime with Lihini way back, when we talked about how much of a pimp I was, but I’m pretty sure my girlfriend would disagree with that.

How do I know Lihini some of you may ask? We go to the same school, I am one of her upperclassmen, and she is my snuggly wuggly baby.

Well, now to the subject, books. I am writing this right now quite unprepared for what I am getting into, I don’t even know which book I am going to talk about yet! I have the book “Slaughterhouse five” in front of me, it is the book I am currently reading, but as I am nowhere near done with it, and it is pretty weird considering what this website usually writes about, I’ll pick another one.

So, what am I going to write about?

I am going to do something different than what is usually done one this blog I guess.
There is this short story I read a while back called “The last question” written by famous science fiction writer Isaac Asimov. I liked it a lot, since it was well written and the ending was just fantastic.

One of the most important things to me in movies and books is that the ending is good. It’s the most important part. It’s the thing that will leave you in awe or just smack you down to the ground with a big “FUCK YOU”. The last question is kind of bland when it comes to the story in whole; we get to follow humanity through time, from now to the end of the universe. The story follows several characters, none of them serving any significance as a person, but just as tools to explain what is happening around them in the universe. And what is happening in the universe, entropy.

Entropy is the physics term for explaining the increase of chaos in the universe. How everything in the universe is broken down into smaller and smaller pieces, how the stars in the sky slowly burn out and die. It’s about what happens when the universe runs out of energy, when every sun has burnt out, and all that exists in the universe is disorder. I’m not going to go into too much detail about it, since it’s very complicated and I barely understand it myself.

But yeah, that is what the book is about, how to stop entropy and prolong the existence of life in the universe.

My description probably doesn’t interest most of the people reading this, but, just read it for God’s sake. The ending is absolutely amazing and genius, and even if you don’t like the beginning, or the middle, just keep reading til you reach the end, and I promise you won’t be disappointed.

And, that’s what the best part of writing about a short story is I can share it all with you, because it’s available online. (http://filer.case.edu/dts8/thelastq.htm)

So, I hope at least one of you guys read it, I personally know I will force Lihini to read it.
Peace out homies!

Origin (Lux #4) REVIEW

Lux #1 review
Lux #2 review
Lux #3 review

Origin (Lux, #4)By: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Pages: 366
Publisher: Entangled Publishing

Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.
Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything.
But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?
And will they even be together?

SWEET BABY JESUS WHAT A RIDE!
Where did all that intensity come from?! WOW I'm still in chock. I can't even believe I finished this book in one sitting, Origin had my jaw dropping over and over again, and the best thing? THIS IS FROM BOTH DAEMON'S AND KATY'S POV!!!!!

So freaking much happened in this book, I'm not kidding, I had super duper high hopes on this book, but Jen really stepped out from her comfort zone when writing this book, things I would NEVER imagine happening happened in Origin, and may I tell you that it just made this book so much better. It's no secret that Jennifer L. Armentrout is the alien Goddess and this book just proved what we already know - Alien is the new Vampires.

Aside from that we got to know the other characters from Lux series better, such as Bethany, Dawson, Dee, Luc, Paris etc. and we even got to know a whole new character called Archer who I grew to love quickly!

And I could not write this review without mentioning Daety (Daemon + Katy wink wink ;) ) could I? Do you guys remember the ending in Opal? Yeah, totally crushed my soul too.
This between them changed very much in this book, they have been trough so much together, everything that happened in the previous Lu book should have crushed them but didn't, And they would both go trough it all over and over again if it meant that they could be together in the end, they have that relationship that's just been trough too much to ever fade.

I'f you've read the other three books in this series I see no point in not reading this one, you obviously read them because you love the series, and trust me when I say that you will love this one even more!

Just a quick update...

... And I will bomb this blog with reviews and other bookish stuff.

My operation went well, The doctor MIGHT have found the cause of my lost hearing but we can't be sure until my ear is healed.
Let's keep our fingers crossed ok? I'm not getting my hopes up on anything though, I don't want to be disappointed.

I had ALL my best friends visit me, I've never ever been in a room with every single one of them at the same time. Julia and Carin had a bag full of gifts and a beautiful card from my WHOLE CLASS. I got so emotional.

The days after the operation have been hard as expected, I haven't been able to talk like I normally do, only whisper, my neck is super swift and I can't even walk on my own! But it's getting better every day :)

And a special thank you to Julia, Emelie and Klara for helping me out with my blog!

5 reasons why..

This may not be a surprise to you, but I’m not Lihini. My name is Klara and I am yet another one of her friends from school who have been given the great pleasure of writing a post on this blog. Since I’m not Lihini I can brag about this blog as much as I want to, which is exactly what I’m going to do. Therefore today’s subject is 5 reasons why you should read teenbookalover.blogspot.se.
  •        It’s a book blog. Seriously, do you need another reason? Reading is, to quote Macklemore, fucking awesome.
  •        Lihini’s probably got the best taste in books ever and you can always rely on her when you’re in need of some book tips.
  •        She reads a lot, which means that she’s able to update the blog frequently.
  •       All of Lihini’s blog posts are well structured, well thought-out and well-written. I know that sounds like something your English teacher would say, but it really makes a huge difference.
  •      There are some amazing giveaways which you do not want to miss!

So, my fellow Teenbookalover readers, do you agree with me?

May the odds be ever in your favor!
