Seventeen-year-old Vane Weston has no idea how he survived the category five tornado that killed his parents. And he has no idea if the beautiful, dark-haired girl who’s swept through his dreams every night since the storm is real. But he hopes she is.
Seventeen-year-old Audra is a sylph, an air elemental. She walks on the wind, can translate its alluring songs, and can even coax it into a weapon with a simple string of commands. She’s also a guardian—Vane’s guardian—and has sworn an oath to protect Vane at all costs. Even if it means sacrificing her own life.
When a hasty mistake reveals their location to the enemy who murdered both of their families, Audra’s forced to help Vane remember who he is. He has a power to claim—the secret language of the West Wind, which only he can understand. But unlocking his heritage will also unlock the memory Audra needs him to forget. And their greatest danger is not the warriors coming to destroy them—but the forbidden romance that’s grown between them. i had marked this book as "to - read" on goodreads which I totally forgot about. but loking at this review now again I see a disturbing thing. this review reminds me very much of another book i have read. if you guessed Beautiful Creatures you are right. im not so sure that I like that. Mila 2.0 (MILA 2.0 #1) Debra Driza Mila was never meant to learn the truth about her identity. She was a girl living with her mother in a small Minnesota town. She was supposed to forget her past—that she was built in a secret computer science lab and programmed to do things real people would never do.
Now she has no choice but to run—from the dangerous operatives who want her terminated because she knows too much and from a mysterious group that wants to capture her alive and unlock her advanced technology. However, what Mila’s becoming is beyond anyone’s imagination, including her own, and it just might save her life.
that cover... O.O she reminds me a lot of Clary from The mortal Instrument's or at least a bit of her story, and I like that there is no mysterious hot guy in the review, because it's nice having a heroine standing alone once in a while A Tale for the Time Being By Ruth Ozeki
In Tokyo, sixteen-year-old Nao has decided there’s only one escape from her aching loneliness and her classmates’ bullying. But before she ends it all, Nao first plans to document the life of her great grandmother, a Buddhist nun who’s lived more than a century. A diary is Nao’s only solace—and will touch lives in ways she can scarcely imagine.
Across the Pacific, we meet Ruth, a novelist living on a remote island who discovers a collection of artifacts washed ashore in a Hello Kitty lunchbox—possibly debris from the devastating 2011 tsunami. As the mystery of its contents unfolds, Ruth is pulled into the past, into Nao’s drama and her unknown fate, and forward into her own future. this seems like a really sweet story, a story that i would pick up when im tired of all the fantasy and paranormal :) Music of the Heart By Katie Ashley
For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple—join her brothers’ band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she’s finally ready for the limelight by becoming its fourth member. Of course, she never imagined stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupie’s, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn't in his bed on purpose.
Jake Slater never imagined the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when after betting Abby she wouldn’t last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake’s personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He’s never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, or most importantly make music with.
As the week starts comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart Country songstress and a bad boy of Rock N Roll actually have a future together? An easy romance book, I think this will be just the book to read on the sofa near the window, watching the snw melt and see Sweden slowly waking up, and that cover is kind of sexy, and I kind of dig guys with tattoos, or what do you say JULIA?
a lot f fantasy books comin out this month, i had a really hard time finding non fantasy, and it was quite a work.. I hope you will find anything new to read, if not, write to me and I will give u some more advice! ~ stay smart, stay chic xoxo Lihini
By Nicholas Sparks A man with a faded, well-worn notebook open in his lap. A woman experiencing a morning ritual she doesn't understand. Until he begins to read to her. The Notebook is an achingly tender story about the enduring power of love, a story of miracles that will stay with you forever. Set amid the austere beauty of coastal North Carolina in 1946, The Notebook begins with the story of Noah Calhoun, a rural Southerner returned home from World War II. Noah, thirty-one, is restoring a plantation home to its former glory, and he is haunted by images of the beautiful girl he met fourteen years earlier, a girl he loved like no other. Unable to find her, yet unwilling to forget the summer they spent together, Noah is content to live with only memories. . until she unexpectedly returns to his town to see him once again. Allie Nelson, twenty-nine, is now engaged to another man, but realizes that the original passion she felt for Noah has not dimmed with the passage of time. Still, the obstacles that once ended their previous relationship remain, and the gulf between their worlds is too vast to ignore. With her impending marriage only weeks away, Allie is forced to confront her hopes and dreams for the future, a future that only she can shape. Like a puzzle within a puzzle, the story of Noah and Allie is just beginning. As it unfolds, their tale miraculously becomes something different, with much higher stakes. The result is a deeply moving portrait of love itself, the tender moments, and fundamental changes that affect us all. Shining with a beauty that is rarely found in current literature, The Notebook establishes Nicholas Sparks as a classic storyteller with a unique insight into the only emotion that really matters. Noah is a man that grows with the years, he is a quiet man in the beginning but as the years pass by he learn to express his feelings. He is also a thinking man, always thinking and analyzing. I like that about him, that he doesn't take things for granted, and I think that is a side effect you get from reading a lot of poems. Noah was a man that fought for what he wanted in life, he didn't come from a rich family like Allie who could give her what she wanted, instead he had to work had to get things. Allie on the other hand is describes as a bright person, i thought she was really sweet, the way she talked was cute, and even though her parent's had a lot of money and had a very upper class image she never rose above earth, she was always down to earth, and she saw good things in other people that wasn't from her society circle.
the story takes place somewhere between 1930 - 1940, during the second world war and a lot of boys was out fighting for their country back then and so was he, Nicholas Sparks made the book "real" by taking note to what happened around them during that time.
this is a short novel and a lot of things happened within these 249 pages, a lot of things. Sparks jumped from one time to another and he wrote about them both equally much, except when he came near the end. I think this was a very sweet book with a lot of love and a beautiful ending. if i had to rate this bok i would give it 3.5 out of 5. the fact that everything happened so fast is what lowers the rating. xoxo Lihini
L: hello William, how are you? W: im fine. how are you? L: im good, a bit tired hehe W: okey, I can tell...
L: what do you mean? W: you look very beautiful L: that's so sweet of you to say. what are your plans for today? W: nothiiiiiiing L: what a boring life you must have W: it's fantastic. L: let's agree to disagree. so, every time I see you sitting alone I always see a nintendo or a book in your hands. what are you reading right now? W: The last book in the Inheritence chronicle, named Inheritence, you may have heard of it's prequels Eragon and The eldest. L: I have! I have the book Eragon at home but I can't bring myself to read it... is the book any good? W: Eragon is great, not the best book in the series, which would be The eldest, but it is actually one of the best books i've ever read. L: hm, maybe I should read it then... so, I get the vibe that The eldest is not your favourite book, am i right? W: It was for a couple of years, but it's also a book aimed towards younger people and I did kind of out grow it. L: which book is your favorite book at the moment? W: Name of the wind, The wise mans fear or one of the books in A song of ice and fire, I'm not good at deciding such things.
L: do you have a favorite author? W: George RR Martin, or the one who wrote the name of the wind, don't remember his name.
L: why is he your favorite author? W: His books are good, and a bit different. They are also very complex and there is a wide variation of extremely detailed characters. L:is that soo... so, do you have a book that you would destroy every copy of and why? W: No, not really. I once attempted to read New moon, but I couldn't finish it since it was terrible and I hated it with every inch of my body. But that doesn't mean i want to light it on fire or anything.
L: you are so weird. you didn't even read the first book. that is like begging for the book Gods to kill you. W: They can try to smite me if they want to, I'm stronger than them. L: don't be so sure, i might even help them.. okay, my last question.. Im sure you have a lot of girls falling head over heels for you, you good looking fella, but are you single? W: No I'm not, I currently have several girlfriends, simultaneously, I'm what some people would call a "PIMP"
L: well then I guess some of my readers could be added to your long list of girlfriends, since you don't seem to have troubles having more than one girlfriend? W: Yeah, I might even help them make some money on the side. L: hahahaha, you are so weird, I like you. okay, that was it, thank you for your time William Winberg! W: thank YOU BEAUTIFUL L: no, stop, im not going out with you W: okey...
Im still sick, I went to the gym as soon as I got better and that kind of made everything worse, so Im not up to writing anything, sry guys...
i thought I might upload my sick-playlist. mostly are from Glee, because you know, it's glee.
I eat to die healthy. I don't wan't to die because of what I ate, when i had the freedom to eat anything that I wanted. but changing food habit's can be hard, trust me, i know, I used to eat at least 100g of chocolate per day, and i would eat this planet's biggest portions of junk food.
I still eat chocolate, and I still eat junk food, but I do it with limit's, I allow myself to eat, let's say, MCdonalds 1 -2 a month and chocolate on weekends, but cutting of chocolate for 5 days can be extremely hard sometimes so when it get's too hard I eat a small amount of chocolate with 90% cacao, just to calm the chocolate hunger. of course it's not the same thing as "normal chocolate" but it works.
here are some basics you should try to avoid and what you could eat instead! :) xoxo Lihini
By Richelle Mead In the aftermath of a forbidden moment that rocked Sydney to her core, she finds herself struggling to draw the line between her Alchemist teachings and what her heart is urging her to do. Then she meets alluring, rebellious Marcus Finch--a former Alchemist who escaped against all odds, and is now on the run. Marcus wants to teach Sydney the secrets he claims the Alchemists are hiding from her. But as he pushes her to rebel against the people who raised her, Sydney finds that breaking free is harder than she thought. There is an old and mysterious magic rooted deeply within her. And as she searches for an evil magic user targeting powerful young witches, she realizes that her only hope is to embrace her magical blood--or else she might be next.
Sydney is such a bright character, she is very smart and have an open mind which a lot of alchemist don't have. This makes her really see the good in the "vampires" and not only see them the way the alchemist have taught her to look at them. the second novel left as at that loaded scene between Adrian and Sydney where he declares his love for her and she flipps. It's nice to see what happen't between them afterward because that was seriously all i could think off.
And Adrian my fictional love, oh how I have missed you... I have been following him since Vampire academy book #3 I think is were he comes in and just seen how he has gone from a drinking immature party host to sprit psyco to this man he is now. sure he still have his spirit moment's but I feel that he have really grown along with the books, and he is one of the characters that has "lived on" longer than Rose from VA because her story kind of ended with VA, but Adrian and Eddie, Jills bodyguard, stayed.
so what to I have to say about this book over all?
I really liked it, but it didn't quite manage to amaze me the way Mead use to do, which kind of disappoint me, because I had very high hopes about this one, because i know what an amazing author she truly is. I felt that the end, probably the most important part, was a bit hasty, it wasn't really how the characters I had grown to know would react, but I have to say that absolute end scene was a big "NOO" moment but I saaw something like that coming because Richelle Mead always go off and do that kind of stuff just to keep us pulling our hair out until the next book comes out.
I would also describe this book as the calm before the storm, I feel like this was just the preperation book for the big battle (not literary exactly, im not spoiling) that is waiting in book #4 wich will be out this fall!
I think the reason why this book didn't get to me as her other books did was because she just had a baby and i get that it is stressful, so she will just have to make it up to me about the lack of passion in her writing in the fourth book ;)
update!!!!: the fourth book is going to be told from Adrian's POV as well omg, somebody PINCH ME THIS IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE OMG IM FINALLY GOING TO GET INSIDE MY FICTIONAL CRUSH'S HEAD!!!!!!! xoxo Lihini
... said by no one when you are sick. Yesterday I was at my friends house, Julia (http://www.portlouis.devote.se) we talked about everything, and then her parent's came home with the most delicious chocolate muffins with chocolate frosting on top! they were delish. sadly, I didn't get to keep the delishness in my stomach when I came home...
What i do when i have trouble with keeping my food in mys system is that i drink a lot of green tea. i start of with plain simple green tea, with some spices in it and then next time I change the green tea int some other flavour, and at my third cup i add some milk, that way I stay hydrated but I still get some vitamins in my system without vomiting.
with that said I also have to tell you guys that the blogging might not be as great as it use to be because im very tired, and if i do erite something, have indulgence that the post might not be as bright as my other post's including this one..
house vomit.
