Best Sellers of the month: April

Whiskey Beach

COMBINED PRINT & E-BOOK FICTION

Whiskey Beach

by

For more than three hundred years, Bluff House has sat above Whiskey Beach, guarding its shore—and its secrets. But to Eli Landon, it’s home…

A Boston lawyer, Eli has weathered an intense year of public scrutiny and police investigations after being accused of—but never arrested for—the murder of his soon-to-be-ex wife.

He finds sanctuary at Bluff House, even though his beloved grandmother is in Boston recuperating from a nasty fall. Abra Walsh is always there, though. Whiskey Beach’s resident housekeeper, yoga instructor, jewelry maker, and massage therapist, Abra is a woman of many talents—including helping Eli take control of his life and clear his name. But as they become entangled in each other, they find themselves caught in a net that stretches back for centuries—one that has ensnared a man intent on reaping the rewards of destroying Eli Landon once and for all…

I read some review's of this book and people are saying things as "Nora Roberts is BACK!!" while others are saying "it just seems like something of hers I read before". This one doesn't seem like my cup of tea, none of my goodreads friends have marked this one as to read or anything, and I think this one is for those who likes something more still, I like some action in my books ;)

Divergent (Divergent, #1)YOUNG ADULT
number 1 is The Fault in our Stars AGAIN so Im uploading no. 2 instead which is...

Divergent

by
as you guys might have figured out, im not very big on those dystopia books, they are all so very depressing, like the hunger games.
But I found myself really like Divergent. i liked the story, I liked the wat they painted up some big places in America.there were some thing's i liked less, how some things went really slow in the beginning just to go way to fast nearer the end, and some things i found a bit hard to believe but strangely I still like the book." I might also add that now after some time I find myself more in love with the book. I Sometimes disappear into the Divergent world, were people don't have to struggle with finding themselves, everything is already laid out for them...

I have to say that Im not surprised with this month's best sellers in the 2 different categories. Nora is Very famous, even worldwide, and they have promoted Divergent for months and Im not surprised even more bought it, because it's such a great book

tomorrow is a big day for little me...

... meeting some doctors (like 7 - 10) tomorrow to discuss future operations, I was born with a syndrome that comes with some complications, but I can live with them. Thou i CAN it's not something I necessarily wan't to. So Im meeting up with a whole team to discuss what they are ready to do, IF they even are ready to do anything. Im super scared because this is my last chance to prove that I really wan't this, and then it's up to them to decide. anyway, I don't really wan't to talk about my syndrome or anything here because I don't wan't it to affect how people see me. it's a part of me, but it's not a part of my personality.

So yeah, Im going to be at that place the WHOLE DAY (better than school, I will give it that) I actually like hospitals. They feel like home. I know that's kind of tragic, because that means I have been to hospitals a lot of times, but it's true. The doctor's are often so nice to me :)

If I just had a hot doctor like him...

"Hi doctor, I think something is wrong with my neck, mind checking it?"

Books vs Movies (okey, books will always win but we have to keep things feisty

and then we have the movies coming up next year like Vampire Academy (or blood sisters as they like to call it, and mockingjay (one of my fav books!), and DIVERGENT (im jumping up and down writing Divergent) and Delirium ( i haven't even read it yet but im super excited)

all this awesome books, I can't even begin with describing how awesome this movie year is gonna be, Im doing my best seperating the books from the movies so I don't get disappointed which is surprisingly easy since I don't quite even remember any details from the three most exciting movies coming up this year. All I remember is that I gave the book 5 stars and I don't give away 5 stars that easily. except for Catching Fire. I hated that book. but I think I will love the movie.

I don't know what you guys are saving money for, but im saving up for cinema tickets.

Hello there folks!!

Hello my name is Maria and Im Lihinis bff. I live in Sweden in a town called Bålsta, Im 17 years old, enough about me and now to my passion to books.
I also like to read books but not like Lihini. I mean if Im going to read a book it has to be really good from the begging! and if its not I just throw it away.
so what made me start reading book, yea well that´s simple I can put it in two words: Stephenie Meyer. when I was younger I just read, you know, those really simple books for children until I was about 13 because I did not like to read. But that changed when I made myself read her book because everyone talked about them, so that's the story of how I started reading :)
my favorit book is all the books in the vampire academy.
Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1)Twilight (Twilight, #1)

me!
yeah that was a little bit about me, have a lovely day // Maria :)

what I would do to stop time..

what I would do to stop time..
I would go far, but not too far
I would walk like a little girl
but not walk too far
I would crawl deep under my blankets
but not too deep
I would sit down so I look short
but not too long.

I can run from it, I can hide from it,
but it's a game, every game has it's ending.

.

Thank you Justin Bieber

a lot of girls probably have to visit their psycho-log after your little mask show yesterday, where you show up in a mask and don't talk to your fans, poor people...

and not only that, you make it IMPOSSIBLE to visit town, Stockholm is like a greyzoone, go there and you might never come back, we are talking THOUSANDS of teenage girls running around like chickens haha, jk, I understand you ;)

anyway, we practiced for our english national test that is coming up next week and can I just say that I suck so hard at english? I thought I was good, but that test... it wasn't even the real test and I found it extremely hard! oh well, YOLO right....right?....

Im sorry that my blogposts are a bit boring these days but its only for another week or so, you should see my schoolwork...

2013-04-23

I dont wannaaaaaa

My day downright sucked today! National test that went OK some of the questions was too easy, makes mw angry because things are never easy when it comes to exams. . And then I had to finish a group work thing but my group decided to play hide and seek or something,  i had to look for them in the entire building!  Came home really exhausted, worked on my national test swedish speech that I just want to throw away and burn,  made me and mum some food that was oK, and now im laying in my bed super exhausted. I never get time to work out, school is killing me... heading to the gym before school imorn, night dolls!

TAG: negative thinking

Hola Amigos, vas happenin?

I've had a wonderful weekend, had guests over Friday night, Saturday I went to Julia’s family party and today I went to a driving course for the first time!

As the tag title says we are going to talk about negative thinking which I know a lot of teenagers have. Being a teenager isn’t always easy. Being an adult isn’t always easy either. We deal with different kind of hard things here in life. We make decisions every day, some we are aware of, some we are not so aware of. An unaware action could be when you say Hi to someone, and an aware decision could be picking ice cream flavor.

Those are easy things for most of us, because we do this time after time. We have said hi innumerable of times and we have picked an ice cream flavor at least more than five times. We know what we are doing, therefore we think positive about our action.

But doing something for the first time, or making a big decision can be very hard, and it’s when we are in doubt our negative thinking comes in.

We think in a negative pattern mainly because we don’t believe in ourselves. Someone will always do what we do better, someone will always do what we do faster etc.
We don’t believe in ourselves because we are scared to fail. We worry what others might think, we over analyze every situation and end up being in more doubt which will lead to more negative thinking.
What if I told you at almost every human person have been where you are today, thinking in that same pattern?
Think about your role model, he/she have definitely had a negative thinking pattern more than one in her/his life. But they made it right? They made it through life in an admirable way right?

Being a kid I always heard that I wasn’t fast enough, not bright enough, not a good talker, had a bad writing style etc, and this held me back. Why would I even try to be good when people who I hang out with every day (and teachers) told me that I wouldn’t be able to make it? Surely they would know more than me since I can’t really see myself from other people’s point of view. Like I said before this held me back, I would rather be that stupid girl in class who failed every test. I wouldn’t even try. Until one summer when I went to a politician meeting with a bunch of other kids in my age (I was around 14). I fell in love that day. I fell in love with politician’s spirit. They make decisions every day, they speak up about their ideas and they speak with such a certainty that people start to believe in their ideas too. They don’t have time for negative thinking; they have a country to run! They inspired me to take place, they inspired me to free my mind of cants and fill it with cans.

Up to this day I have achieved:
being recognized as a blogger
owned several hobby companies (8 to be exact)
Worked with politicians for a year as a juvenile crude conductor.
Being prom host on my prom
Written a Manus that have been requested to a screenplay
And more and I’m only 17.

People told me I couldn’t, I TOLD MYSELF I couldn’t, but guess again, I can and I did, and I will continue doing great thing’s because I CAN.

I’m not special; there is nothing special about me. I just know that a negative thinking won’t take you anywhere

You are you and never try to be someone else. It’s just exhausting. If I hadn’t started thinking in a more positive way I would never have been able to grab all these opportunities when I had them, Ii would think that I’m not good enough for any of those things. And where would I have been today if it wasn’t for all these amazing opportunities I have had in life, these things that have changed my life in a good way? I don’t know, but I would not have been here, sitting behind my computer writing this and reaching out to hundreds of people.

I made it throe all odds and so can you. You just have to believe it yourself.

It’s like the saying “you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince”
You have to fail a few times to really succeed.

With that I will have to say good night!

Tempting the best man (the Gamble brothers #1) REVIEW

By J. Lynn
172 pages
Published April 23rd 2012 by Indulgence (Entangled)

Tempting the Best Man (Gamble Brothers, #1)
Madison Daniels has worshiped her brother’s best friend since they were kids. Everyone thinks she and Chase Gamble would make the perfect couple, but there are two major flaws in their logic: 1) Chase has sworn off relationships of any kind, and 2) after blurring the line between friends and lovers for one night four years ago, they can’t stop bickering.Forced together for her brother’s wedding getaway, Chase and Madison decide to call a truce for the happy couple. Except all bets are off when they’re forced to shack up in a tacky 70’s honeymoon suite and survive a multitude of “accidents” as the family tries to prove their “spark” can be used for more than fighting. That is, if they don’t strangle each other first…

Short book on 200 pages, filled with doubt, regret and love. Hopeless love.
It's a bit strange, because when i read it i thought it was good, not woow but yeah you get the point. But sitting on the train and thinking back on the book i get all warm inside.  Chase doubting everything he believed in, i know that a lot of people would see him as a douch or even a sex freak but he would never betray people who love him.He would rather suffer than get what he wants to have.

Maddie never gave up. Being rejected by Chase must have been heard, because why wouldn't it be hard being rejected time after time? She never lost hope.
I loved the ending. It was really heart warming. But i think the road to get there was the best.

"First
Is when your world starts falling apart
What's gonna kill you is the second part
And third
Is when your world splits down in middle
And fourth
You think you gonna fix yourself
Fifth
You see him with someone else
And sixth
Is when you admit you may have fucked up a little" - the Script

My day in pictures

My day started of great. First lesson spanish (first and second pic) we have a tradition in my class that someone or some people bake something to our last friday class, and this week it was my and Evelinas time. We decided to make vanilla muffins with melted chocolate inside (pic 3) and after that i went home from her place and a birthday gift from my mums bf waited at me (pic 4) i had told him earlier that I wanted it, going to kill that bag this spring/summer. Then i started with my studies with a raspberry smoothie by me as a snack (pic 5) and then Evelina text's me and tells me that we have a problem.  Our muffins have turned into stones.  I did what i had to do. I dragged my tired ass over to the kitchen at 9 pm and stood there and made muffins for over an hour.  (Pic 6)

Going to finish my book before i sleep, bye

The Selection (The Selection #1)

By Kiera Cass

Hardcover327 pages
Published April 24th 2012 by HarperTeen

The Selection (The Selection, #1)For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself--and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

I never thought I would finish a book about a prince searching for his princess at the age 17. but I did. and It was goooood.

America Singer. What an amazing name. America didn’t even want to compete, but she did because the love of her life told her to.

America isn’t competing for Maxom’s love; she is not even competing for the crown. All she wants’ to do is stay in the competition long enough so that her family can get some money. She doesn’t like Maxom that way, she doesn’t like him at all, but when she gets to meet him she wonders, what if she’s been getting a twisted look at the prince?

What I liked with this book was that America was in love with a boy names Aspen. Really deeply in love. Every book I read has this instalove, which can be frustrated, because IRL it doesn’t always work like that. Just because she meet’s another friendly guy she does not loose feelings for Aspen like BAM, she is a very realistic character, a very smart one too.

At first Aspen seemed like a great guy, but I hated the fact that he was such a man man, he wanted to be the one providing for HER, even thou she was the one with the money at that point, and that he was willing to take such a irrational decision because of that.

Maxom is a character I can’t quite put a word on. He got this mystic around him, his actions can be quite unpredictable at times, but he is at the same time a sweet guy. In the next book I would like to see some more of his relaxed side, he can be quite stiff.

This book wasn’t so dark for being a dystopia; this is a great dystopia book to start off with!

“That's the thing about pain...it demands to be felt.”

“There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment.”
― Sarah DessenThe Truth About Forever

“You love me. Real or not real?"
I tell him, "Real.”
― Suzanne CollinsMockingjay

“Saying 'I notice you're a nerd' is like saying, 'Hey, I notice that you'd rather be intelligent than be stupid, that you'd rather be thoughtful than be vapid, that you believe that there are things that matter more than the arrest record of Lindsay Lohan. Why is that?' In fact, it seems to me that most contemporary insults are pretty lame. Even 'lame' is kind of lame. Saying 'You're lame' is like saying 'You walk with a limp.' Yeah, whatever, so does 50 Cent, and he's done all right for himself.”
― John Green

“Have you fallen in love with the wrong person yet?'
Jace said, "Unfortunately, Lady of the Haven, my one true love remains myself."
..."At least," she said, "you don't have to worry about rejection, Jace Wayland."
"Not necessarily. I turn myself down occasionally, just to keep it interesting.”
― Cassandra ClareCity of Bones

“There is no pretending," Jace said with absolute clarity. "I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there is life after that, I'll love you then.”
― Cassandra ClareCity of Glass

“That's the thing about pain...it demands to be felt.”
― John GreenThe Fault in Our Stars

“Is this the part where you start tearing off strips of your shirt to bind my wounds?"
"If you wanted me to rip my clothes off, you should have just asked.”
― Cassandra ClareCity of Bones

“When adults say, "Teenagers think they are invincible" with that sly, stupid smile on their faces, they don't know how right they are. We need never be hopeless, because we can never be irreparably broken. We think that we are invincible because we are. We cannot be born, and we cannot die. Like all energy, we can only change shapes and sizes and manifestations. They forget that when they get old. They get scared of losing and failing. But that part of us greater than the sum of our parts cannot begin and cannot end, and so it cannot fail.”
― John GreenLooking for Alaska

some of my favorite quotes, John green is just so.. klockren as we say in swedish (clear as a bell ringing)
and Jace, oh how I miss him.,,
